‘’From darkness to darkness .Life I do not understand you ‘’

Why does a man who has vowed to save lives, vigorously support euthanasia, abortion, suicide, self-redress? What makes a doctor challenge Hippocrates’s oath and devalue life? Why this decision, to kill a man concerns us? And how arrogant is the lack of guilt for his action? Is sex the ultimate pleasure or a dirty act?

Questions, among others, that the novel ‘’Dr. Glass’’ deals with one of the most provocative and emblematic masterpieces of Scandinavian literature, written in 1905 in the form of a diary, by the Swedish author Hjalmar Söderberg .Today, 150 years after the birth of the author (1869), the sense of superiority that his hero feels towards his fellow human beings and the sense of self-redress that he possesses remain unchanged and seem to concern us more than ever.

The director and playwright Stratis Panourios, captivated by the moral power of the book gives flesh and blood to the quirky psychologist Dr. Glass. He arranges and directs this great project, which presented for the first time in Cyprus and Greece, bringing us face to face with the dark sides of the hero-antihero. Two plus one faces are presented on stage in a search for big and unanswered questions that arise through Dr. Glass’s nihilism and cynicism towards life. A great play, an exercise throughout the limits of human understanding.
